Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah Civil Aviation Departments Sign MoU to Enhance Joint Airspace Management

The Department of Civil Aviation in Fujairah and the Department of Civil Aviation in Ras Al Khaimah signed a Memorandum of Understanding designed to strengthen collaboration and coordination in managing airspace-related services between the two emirates. The agreement was formalized during Dubai Airshow 2025.
The MoU was signed by H.E. Mohammed Abdullah Sultan Al Salami, Chairman of The Department of Civil Aviation in Fujairah and Deputy General Manager of the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority, and H.E. Eng. Sheikh Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of Department of Civil Aviation in Ras Al Khaimah and Chairman of Ras Al Khaimah International Airport. The signing underscores the commitment of both parties to fostering an effective institutional partnership that advances the UAE’s civil aviation sector.
The MoU reflects the shared understanding of both authorities on the importance of integrating efforts to develop the aviation industry, oversee airspace management activities, and uphold relevant federal and international regulations. It also aims to enhance airspace safety, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen coordination mechanisms between the two emirates in support of the public interest.

H.E. Mohammed Abdullah Sultan Al Salami emphasized that the MoU highlights the authority’s commitment to building strong and strategic partnerships with key entities in the aviation sector. He noted that this cooperation will lead to joint initiatives that enhance operational processes, boost airport readiness across the UAE, and support knowledge exchange and capacity-building efforts—contributing to the continued growth of the aviation industry at both local and regional levels.

H.E. Eng. Sheikh Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi affirmed that cooperation between the UAE’s civil aviation authorities is a cornerstone for strengthening the competitiveness of the national aviation sector regionally and globally. He added that the MoU will pave the way for new opportunities in joint development across safety, security, air traffic management, and technology modernization.
